A little boy that just turned four is in my mother’s daycare. I was there Tuesday off and on as she watched the girls while I was off at various doctor visits and dropped by in between them. He and I had the most adorable conversation.
He comes up to me and rubs my belly out of the blue.
Him: “OH my!! Your belly is really getting all big with that baby in there!!”
Me: “Yes it is. Pretty soon the baby will be so big it has to come out!”
Him: “hey… hey! you know what?”
Me: “What?”
Him: “Do you know what babies are like when they are born? what they say?”
Me: “No. What do they say?”
Him: “Oh they say WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!! I was all nice and warm and now it’s COLD!!!! and they go like this :BRRRRR: (he shakes) and say WHAT HAPPENED??!! That’s what they say because it’s cold when you’re out of that belly!”
… and then he was off to play as quick as he came.
It was SO cute! It’s also one of those things that makes you wonder if they aren’t speaking from memory…
