Down to zero!

May 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So the NST was good this morning. Well, mostly good. No protein which makes me breathe easy for a bit longer. Last Thursday the protein showed up.  If it happens like last time it will come and go a couple weeks until it sticks around.  I’m happy my body seems to be doing the same thing because that means we should have another good two safe weeks before it threatens to go kablewy.  The girl was non cooperative. She was only “reactive” when they prodded her and then just stopped all together. She passed the monitored test and fluid levels are excellent and so on. During the u/s they look for movement and things like practice breathing. By that point she completely ignored anything the nurse did. We watched on the u/s while the nurse prodded her and she completely ignored it. Nothing more than a little wiggle, no kicking back, nadda. At first she was worried, but then we laughed. She would roll a bit from side to side, but when we looked at her face she was fervently sucking her thumb. She wanted to sleep and went from kicking at the prodding to just plain ignoring them. Two hours later she was dancing up a storm of course. I have my fingers crossed we’ll have another good sleeper!
I’m still stable and as long as that protein stays trace or 0 we’re doing awesome.
Followed up with my OB this afternoon and heard surprising news. If I go into labor tomorrow they will not stop me. I will be getting weekly pelvics (at least) from here on out.   (This suck by the way, OMG hate.)  As soon as my cervix shows signs or ripening we’re delivering the kiddo. Which means if I don’t go on my own ASAP,  induction. I SO don’t want to do that again so I’m bummed it looks like induction again.  Under no circumstances will I deliver past 40 weeks, and most likely not past 39 which means the kiddo should be here in less than a month.  I’ve BTDT but all of a sudden it’s real and I feel so unprepared!

First great NST!

May 14, 2009 · 1 Comment

Only took 3 weeks to get one!

They stabbed me on Tuesday to check my hemoglobin, and the iron is doing what it’s supposed to! In mid March I was 9.7. Roughly two weeks ago I dropped to just over an 8. Thats when they gave me a script for uber iron pills and I was doomed to never poo again  As of Monday I’m up to 10.7!! I’m so happy the iron is working. If it didn’t scary bad things would be in my near future. They still want me up over 12, but are happy with what’s going on.

My little girl cooperated completely. She did the correct number of accelerations in the first 10 min. That’s never happened before! The nurse actually apologized and said she had to keep me hooked up to the monitors for a min of 20 min so I’d be a while longer. Considering this is the first time I wasn’t there over an hour being prodded, juiced, and buzzed I was beyond happy.

Only concern was my BP which was 143/75. Not something they are changing my meds again over yet. Something to “keep an eye on” as per usual, and I’ll be back at the hospital on Monday to do it all again. Still no protein and swelling is minimal \o/ OH, and the nurse was actually concerned that I lost weight! It was only 3 lbs and could easily be explained by taking weights at different times of the day, fuller bladder/tummy whatever. Not a big concern but she was making sure I wasn’t sick this week. Being on the plumper end I LOVE it when doctors are like, “wtf, eat more!!” LOL It’s such a rare thing.

Now the NSTs just need to keep going this well to the end.

WALKING!!!!

May 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Amelia finally decided she was gong to walk yesterday.  She’s been taking a step or two here and there for a few weeks now.  She’s been walking around furniture and barely assisted with a hand all over the place.  I’m actually surprised she didn’t start walking sooner and disappointed I missed the revelation when she finally took off.  I was gone for two hours yesterday and I missed it!!  Stupid doctors appointment ;_;  She’ll walk all the way across a room now though.  It’s SO adorable!!  Told Gourry we have to dig the camera out tonight and get some video~

I dunno how far behind Elaine will be.  At the moment she crawls FAST.  Faster than her sister which is pretty amazing for starting a month later.  Ever since her sister started walking unassisted yesterday Elly has been taking many steps herself.  Even though it’s slower I’ve seen her choose to walk along furniture and walls more than ever starting yesterday afternoon.  We think Elaine will probably take off on her own in less than three weeks.  Perhaps not by her birthday, but it will be very close to that.
